Little Inventors wants children to open their eyes to the world of invention and creativity. But beyond the invention drawings, there is a unique opportunity for children and makers, designers and artists to come together and collaborate to bring children’s imagination to life.
By taking children’s ideas seriously and presenting them in a professional manner through collaboration with skilled makers, we will help showcase children’s original ideas, perspectives and voices.
We also want to challenge the skills and experience of adult makers, and encourage them to push beyond their own limits by engaging with the highly imaginative and unhindered minds of young children.

I lead shop operations and member engagement at Newlab as a multidisciplinary maker with a strong background in CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and digital fabrication. I’ve had a hands-on, DIY mindset since early on and enjoy turning ideas into real, functional parts—especially when the solution doesn’t already exist. I combine technical expertise with a passion for community by developing workshops, supporting members, and helping bring innovative concepts to life.
L&L Products brings deep expertise in applied engineering, materials science, and global manufacturing to turn ideas into real, functional products. The company specializes in designing, testing, and producing customized material solutions—combining advanced engineering, prototyping, and scalable manufacturing processes to create innovations that are lighter, stronger, and built to perform in the real world. We're excited to work with our Little Inventor to also bring their idea to life!
With a background in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and Product Design from The College for Creative Studies, I'm a huge fan of innovations that unite form and function. Currently I'm implementing my technical prowess and passion for CMF at Milwaukee Tool as an Industrial Designer on the Mechanics Hand Tools and Marking Expansion teams.
Andrew is a design engineer at Makerlabs whose skills include mechanical design, 3D modelling and taco manufacturing.
Make 613 is a small group of makers in the Ottawa community who are informally grassroots organized.
Protospace is Calgary's original, community-based, member-driven maker space, offering access to workshop space and tools, education and community. They exist to facilitate member projects and interests by providing a physical space, tools, and a friendly, welcoming community of makers.
Erica is a roboticist, educator and creative technologist currently based in Toronto, Canada. She has a technical background in molecular biology and biotechnology and a passion for science communication, digital education, user experience research and design, and emerging technology.
Graham has been a teacher for many years, teaching children in Science Quest at Queen’s University, City of Toronto science summer camps and more. He is an Instructor at MakerKids.
Halifax Makerspace is a non-profit group of people who love to make with a variety of materials and skills. We support each other in our individual projects, participate in group community builds, and offer free electronics workshops.
