'We thought a rainwater collecting umbrella was a very cool response to a growing problem: that of excess waste from water bottles. We love that the solution to this contemporary issue harkened back to the solution makers used to address water shortages in the past, the rain barrel...'

We used an umbrella and a water bottle with built-in carbon filter as our base components. We ran a brainstorming session with our members and Mitchell, made a plan, and broke it up into tasks that could be done in parallel, then quickly assembled. We were stoked to be able to use a variety of materials and techniques, including 3D design, 3D printing, sewing and wood work.'
