Meet our Magnificent Makers
Little Inventors wants children to open their eyes to the world of invention and creativity. But beyond the invention drawings, there is a unique opportunity for children and makers, designers and artists to come together and collaborate to bring children’s imagination to life.
By taking children’s ideas seriously and presenting them in a professional manner through collaboration with skilled makers, we will help showcase children’s original ideas, perspectives and voices.
We also want to challenge the skills and experience of adult makers, and encourage them to push beyond their own limits by engaging with the highly imaginative and unhindered minds of young children.

My name is Barkai and I am a passionate Industrial Designer currently working as a toy designer and inventor in an international toy company, developing new products.
My passion for design drives me to learn about new materials, technologies, and styles. One of the things I love most is to combine two different subjects to create a new idea. Design for me is a great platform to positively impact people and make them smile.
I have been making science and space projects for the last 5 years. I especially like to make projects that mix science, arts, and music. I can code using Arduino, Micro:Bit and Python. Some of the projects I have made include the Canada Arm, the Trappist-1 Exoplanetary Model, Make an Astronaut Smile (MARS) Robot, KiloNova Battle Bot, the Dragonfly Bot and many others.
I am bilingual in French and English.
I am a DT technician and maker, and lover of all things craft. I teach junior school children DT, feel very passionately about crafting and i want to share this with children. I sew or embroider every day when I'm not at work, as it helps me relax.
I enjoy exercising and reading in my spare time. I have always been interested in design. When I was younger I loved to draw, paint and design! I knew that I would always end up in design which is why I wanted too further my design career by joining Edinburgh Napier Universities Product Design course which has led me to this great opportunity to design for little inventors!
Hi!
I'm Siôn and I love to draw and make things out of cardboard. I especially like to make fun things like cardboard pinball machines and monster detectors!
As an illustrator I get to draw as my job, this is something I wanted for as long as I can remember so I feel very lucky that it has happened. I also like to help others to draw and make too because the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned!
