Exhibition - A2 Posters

Since I couldn't find the attached photos when linking my video, here's a second post of my setup.

The Exhibition

On monday the 4th we had the exhibition where we set up our A2 posters on wooden boards. Unfortunately my little inventor didn't turn up so I didn't get to show him what I created, but it was nice to see the other A2 posters and creation. I also managed to record parts of my animation on the showreel screen that was playing.

Editing in Premiere

With the animation done and the voice over recorded, I took everything into Premiere Pro where I would add extra sound effects, making it feel better. Once that was done, I could export my final film.

I then recorded the voice over for the robot. Once I had the main lines, I took them into Audacity where I would edit them to sound robotic, following a YouTube tutorial I found online.

Animating

I went and did some animating in Maya - on the right is the staging of the scene, with the placement of the camera, lighting, characters and object; on the left is what will be seen on film. With my scene staged out, I began animating.

I worked on some storyboards of what would go on within the animation - while the final thing might not contain as many camera angles, the goal was to capture the different functions of the Robot.

Finalized Facial Expressions

Using Photoshop, I created the finalized face designs I would use for my animation. I decided to keep the eyes as I felt it made him look more friendly.

3D Rubbish Warden

Using Maya, I have then made the creation in 3D, trying to keep the invention similar to the original.

Little Inventors Faces
Posted by Kirk

Since the Rubbish Warden's face is going to switch depending on whether he's happy or upset with you, I created some possible designs of what the happy face and angry face would look like. I also experimented with placing eyes on the design to see whether it would work or not.
