TL (Tutu Lights)
Blog entries
This week I created a poster to show off the tutu. I wanted Lea to be front and centre, underground, wearing the tutu. I also added a 3D element, I used different coloured fabric to make the tutu pop from the page and look more realistic.
This week I finished the tutu! I added an extra row of elastic and tulle to make it more poufy and interesting, I sewed on the velcro so it can easily be put on and I tied in the rest of the LEDs.
This week I started to make the tutu. I tied strips of tulle around the elastic waistband, weaving in the LEDs as I go so the whole thing will light up when it is finished.
I spent this week sourcing materials for the tutu. I went to craft shops for tulle (the material most of the tutu is made from) and I bought the elastic and velcro online.
I made a small model of the tutu out of paper. I made it more colourful by drawing little dots all over it with different coloured pens to make it look like LEDs. I also made a little stand for it out of the middle card bit from loo roll.

This week I drew the idea again, making it look more like how the final tutu will be when it is made. I also looked at materials to try and figure out what the tutu will be made from.
