The Lego Builder

This is our final interpretation of our clients design, hopefully it is just as he imagined it to be!
We created a poster to clearly demonstrate the purpose for the Lego builder. We added the 3D element of Lego bricks in order to emphasise what is used to trap the pollution. After experimenting with different layouts for the poster we concluded this was the best design as it utilises white space to draw your attention to the main focus which is the Lego builder.
We finished off the model by adding the feature of a rocket that shoots when pressure is applied to the pump with the help of a 50ml travel bottle as its body. Then we assembled all the different elements to produce the final model.
Once the arm of the Lego builder was complete, we moved onto the base, wheels and the switch. Continuing to use mount board made the wheels a particularly tricky part of this project as they has to be absolutely symmetrical to allow them to rotate correctly. The switch also required mechanics to allow it to control the movement of the claw, this was accomplished using the resistance of a piece of string.
After the initial plan was created we then went straight into the creation of the Lego builder out of mount board. Starting off with the claws where we utilised similar mechanics to that of an arcade grabber game. Then continuing along through the arm of the product where an axis hinge was used to allow 180 degrees rotation.
In order to better understand our clients concept we first started off by using cad software to make a plan of how we were going to tackle the design
