I exhibited the final model and my poster at Ravensbourne University.

Render

This is the render after 5 minutes. I will cut this out and use it in photoshop to create images of the product being worn by a child.

Render Set Up

Here I am setting up the lights to render my drawing. This render will be helpful to present the design of the shield watch.

Corrected Mistake
Posted by Charley Middleton

When I started to render my cad drawing I realised that the stick and shield was in the wrong place, the shield would have been blocking where his arm needs to go through the strap. I have moved this now so that the shield is in the right place.

CAD with Colour

I have added the colours from keyans drawing to my CAD drawing. His idea is starting to look more real now.

Finished CAD

I have now added the shield to the watch. I rounded the edges of the shield so that it is safe for keyan to wear. I also changed the design of the shield slightly. I did this because keyan said how he wanted the shield to look like Captain Americas. I kept it different to Captain Americas but has similarities.

Finishing CAD

I have finished the drawing of the watch and added the stick which will hold the shield. I now have to draw the shield and attach it to the end of the stick.

Starting CAD
Posted by Charley Middleton

I have started to draw the CAD drawing of Keyans watch shield so that I can see what the finished product will look like before making it and can make last minute changes to do the design if I need to. This will also give me a technical drawing to work from to make the model. It will have the correct measurements of each part so that I know everything is to the right scale.
This drawing can also be used to create renders of the product to help show keyan how his watch will protect him in the scary scenarios he wished he had it.

Design Sketch

I have drawn a more detailed version of Keyan's drawing so that it shows the details that me and Keyan discussed. To make the model I think it will be made in 3 parts. The watch, the shield and the stick holding them together. I think I will buy the watch and add the LED to it by drilling a hole for it. I think the shield could be laser cut out of acrylic or made out of layered card, as it needs to be light in weight so that it doesn't cause the watch to spin on his wrist. To join them both together I think the best thing to use would be a wooden dowel, or possibly metal wire as it needs to be strong but thin.
