Why We Created ReStep

As part of our school’s PYP Exhibition (PYPx), we are exploring the topic “Efficient Renewable Energy and Healthy Forests and Oceans.” In our third Line of Inquiry (LOI 3), we explored what the world and our society can do to make renewable energy more widely available. We then thought about what we could do ourselves to support this goal and decided to share our invention with people around the world as our action.

About ReStep

ReStep is a floor that converts the pressure of footsteps into electricity using piezoelectric materials. The generated electricity can power small devices, such as LED lights and sensors. By turning everyday steps into energy, ReStep encourages people to explore new ways to use energy sustainably.
