To accompany the model, a poster was made to depict the issue that the invention is solving. The poster went through a bit of development to fix the proportions and the colours of the invention. Changes were also made to the title to make it stand out more against the background.
After creating the chassis of the model, I started working on the other key elements of the invention. I used acrylic paint to give the model a bit of personality, and I decided to add some of the other features of the model after the paint dried. I used mountboard for the bulk of the other features, such as the water container, the food box and the food barrel. The legs / vacuum features on the bottom of the model were created by cutting up pop tubes and wrapping them in tin foil to give them a mechanical look.
After deciding what the model will look like and what materials I will need, I started marking and cutting out the chassis of my model using mountboard. I also decided to use thin sheets of plexiglass to create the windows on the model.
I have taken Sara's initial sketch and drew up a few concepts of what it would look like in real life. This gives me a better understanding of what I am aiming to make the model look like, what materials I will need, and where to start.
