Cupcake Shower
Blog entries
To hold all necessities for a cupcake (sauces, toppings, etc) we decided to design various ideas for a shower rack.
We decided to create a cupcake lid for the shower structure to hold the sprinkles. Here are a view 3D and flat based designs we're considering.
We used the sublimation printer to transfer our marble curtain designs onto a Polyester Voile.
After creating colour palette swatches from our marble tiles, we designed a striped print inspired by a typical cupcake case. Following this, we used the 'liquify' tool on Photoshop to create a marble-like effect. We think these designs turned out great and we will go on to print onto various synthetic fabrics and plastics, which will create possibilities for shower curtain samples.
To make the Cupcake Shower extra shower-like, we decided to create a 'tasteful' spin on beautiful marbled tiling. It's quite obvious Olive loves the colour pink, so we added a few drops of food colouring to a ball of icing and kneaded until we achieved the desired effect. We definitely managed to capture a marble like surface and some amazing shades of pink. Good enough to eat!
After finding a simple looking cardboard conveyor belt online, we designed a flat plan of components needed to make and test our own.
Following our initial design, we created an initial structure for a conveyor belt. During further development we will be testing different materials to put forward. But for now, rolls of paper and cardboard will do!
Once deciding on a basic shape, we began to construct an initial structure using cardboard.
Once we chose Olive's amazing idea, we started to sketch out our design idea. We wanted to make the shower as 'showery' as possible. Curtain, tiles, shower head, chain and all.
