The Lost & Found Office of Oddities Workshop at Boldon Family Hub

Boldon Family Hub sits in the heart of Boldon Colliery’s community and is a friendly, welcoming place for families to access support, advice and activities. For this workshop, our Office staff will be bringing a selection of strange items that require careful attention from local experts — which, in this case, means children and families.

Participants will be invited to inspect objects from the archive, share their theories and help us decide what each item is, where it came from and what it might have been used for.

The workshop will then move into creative activities, with families using drawing, storytelling and invention to imagine their own odd artefacts, unusual tools and mysterious discoveries.

Funny, lively and highly interactive, the session encourages curiosity, creative problem-solving and the confidence to suggest wonderfully unexpected ideas.
