The Lost & Found Office of Oddities Returns to The Viking Centre, Jarrow

After a visit the previous week, our dedicated Office staff will once again be bringing a selection of strange and puzzling items from the archive to one of Jarrow’s busiest local shopping destinations.

The Lost & Found Office of Oddities is responsible for the careful collection, cataloguing and investigation of unusual items found, donated or handed in over the years.

Throughout the day, visitors will be invited to take a closer look at our curious collection, offer their theories, share any expert knowledge they may have, and help us continue our investigations into the unexplained. Every object raises important questions: What is it? Where did it come from? Who might have used it? And what on earth might it do?

From mysterious artefacts to curious contraptions, each item has a story waiting to be uncovered — and our Office staff will be looking for shoppers, families and passers-by willing to lend their powers of observation.

Funny, intriguing and highly interactive, The Lost & Found Office of Oddities invites visitors of all ages to become investigators, inventors and accidental experts in the unexplained.

The Lost & Found Office of Oddities will also be popping up at a range of other events, and running a series of workshops in Family Hubs, in South Tyneside this summer.
