The Lost & Found Office of Oddities at Entertainment by the Sea
On Sunday 12 July, The Lost & Found Office of Oddities will be appearing at Entertainment by the Sea, a free afternoon of entertainment, performances and live music along Sandhaven Promenade in South Shields.
Taking place as part of the Summer Parade weekend, Entertainment by the Sea brings family-friendly activity to the seafront, with visitors invited to enjoy a lively afternoon by the coast.
The Lost & Found Office of Oddities is responsible for the careful collection, cataloguing and investigation of unusual items found, donated or handed in over the years.
Our dedicated Office staff will be attending the event with a selection of strange and puzzling objects from the archive. Visitors will be invited to inspect the items, offer their theories, share any expert knowledge they may have, and help us answer the important questions: What is it? Where did it come from? Who might have used it? And what on earth might it do?
From curious contraptions to mysterious artefacts, every item has a story waiting to be uncovered. Funny, intriguing and highly interactive, The Lost & Found Office of Oddities invites visitors of all ages to become investigators, inventors and accidental experts in the unexplained.
Come and find our Office staff on the promenade — we will be looking for curious minds, sharp eyes and anyone willing to help us investigate the very unusual.
The Lost & Found Office of Oddities will also be popping up at a range of other events, and running a series of workshops in Family Hubs, in South Tyneside this summer.
