Making Waves Workshop at Forest View Primary
The Making Waves challenge arrived at Forest View in the form of a creative, ocean-themed workshop.
The ocean covers more than 70% of our planet, and is essential to all life on Earth. But human factors like overpopulation, travel, noise and industrialisation have taken their toll on life beneath the waves.
We need to build a better future for our oceans with science, invention, and innovation at the heart of it all. The more we understand our oceans, the better we can learn to look after them and bring them back to health.
That’s why we partnered with Dogger Bank Wind Farm and South Tyneside Council to deliver an invention challenge to children across South Tyneside - Making Waves! Inventing for a better ocean.
A huge part of the challenge has been holding creative workshops in schools, getting the children thinking about the importance of ocean conservation and what they could create and design to make a difference.
For this workshop we headed to Forest View Primary School. Thank you to all of the students who came up with so many ways to help our oceans!
