Lit & Phil Workshops

On 30th April and 7th May, children from Gosforth East Middle School, St Paul’s C of E Primary School and from Home Educated families took part in our Lit & Phil Invention Challenge 2025!
During four fun-filled workshops at the Lit & Phil, children came up with their own invention ideas to help wildlife in Newcastle.
We took inspiration from the library’s amazing collection of books on the history of invention and Natural History.
The children drew their invention ideas and made prototypes using cardboard and recycled materials.
Three ideas from the four workshops will be brought to life by professional makers and showcased at an exhibition at the Lit & Phil this summer.
