Bringing BALTIC Back to Nature

Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK

From 22nd to 23rd of February, we joined BALTIC in going back to nature for two days of imagination and creativity.

For five days, Baltic was alive with activities spread throughout the building as the venue presented Five Days of Nature.

Little Inventors were not to be left out of this exciting event. We presented two days of workshops during which we put our own spin on bringing Baltic back to nature.

Imagine a version of Baltic where nature has taken over. Think sprawling vines and plants, curious animals, meandering rivers, and much more.

As part of our quest to explore our relationship with nature through art and creativity, we implored you to take part in a unique and continuously evolving workshop.

Across both days, we collectively contributed to a model vision of the beloved building enveloped in all things wild and wonderful.

Inspired by Atomhawk’s ‘The Realm’, we brought a dramatic and atmospheric take on the beauty of Baltic to life, imagining if the concrete and Corten steel gave way to foliage, animals, and other beautiful living things.

We built a large cardboard Baltic and invited participants to create new ‘nature things’ using available materials and add them to the building and its surroundings.

There was so much on offer during the Five Days of Nature event which took place February 21st - 25th. All activities were free to attend on a drop in basis.
