I really like the practicality and simplicity of your idea Brady. I think your invention is a great alternative to a fiddly padlock and key. Your drawing is very neat and your labels show all of the parts of your invention really clearly, well done! Thinking about ways to simplify things and make them quicker and easier is definitely a sign of a great inventor - nice work!
