Making Waves Workshop at Holy Trinity Academy
Holy Trinity Academy were treated to an invention workshop all about our amazing oceans.
The ocean covers more than 70% of our planet, and is essential to all life on Earth. But human factors like overpopulation, travel, noise and industrialisation have taken their toll on life beneath the waves.
We need to build a better future for our oceans with science, invention, and innovation at the heart of it all. The more we understand our oceans, the better we can learn to look after them and bring them back to health.
That’s why we partnered with Dogger Bank Wind Farm and South Tyneside Council to deliver an invention challenge to children across South Tyneside - Making Waves! Inventing for a better ocean.
A huge part of the challenge has been holding creative workshops in schools, getting the children thinking about the importance of ocean conservation and what they could create and design to make a difference.
For this workshop we headed to Holy Trinity Academy. Thank you to all of the students who came up with so many amazing ways to save our seas!
